Boundary Creek Hut is a basic hut in the Mid and South Canterbury area.
Bookings not required - first come, first served
The hut was built between 1902 and 1906. It once marked the boundary between the winter and summer grazing blocks on the old Hakatere Station.
Buicks Bridge car park: Boundary Creek Hut is 5 hours walk and a grade 2 mountain bike ride (13.9 km) from Buicks Bridge car park on Hakatere Heron Road. From Mount Somers, follow Ashburton Gorge Road for 23 km, then Hakatere Heron Road for another 4 km.
Potts River car park: The hut is 6 hours (14.5 km) from the Potts River car park on Hakatere Potts Road. From Mount Somers, follow Ashburton Gorge Road, which becomes Hakatere Potts Road. The carpark is about 40 km from Mount Somers.
