Brown Campsite

Description
This is a walk-in campsite on the Heaphy Track, situated on the edge of Brown River. It's a good place to stay if you're wanting an early start on the track the next day. It's also close to the Aorere River which offers trout fishing and gold panning. Bookings are required and fees apply.
There are 10 non-powered/tent sites and facilities include flushing toilets, sinks and water (not treated - boil before use). Campers are not permitted to use hut facilities.
Brown campsite is a 5 minute walk from the start of the Heaphy Track at the Golden Bay end. It's a 4 hr walk to Aorere Shelter and another 1 hr walk to Perry Saddle hut and campsite.
No dogs.
