Fosters Hut

Description
This is a standard 4-bunk hut located in Mount Richmond Forest Park in the South Marlborough area. Fees apply. Bookings not required - first come, first served.
Facilities include heating, mattresses, non-flush toilets and water (not treated boil before use).
Fosters Hut (1150 m) is east of Fosters Clearing and overlooks Blenheim and the lower Wairau Valley. It was originally buit in 1967.
Getting there
Nearest road to Fosters Hut
Kiwi Road: 2 hr (7 km).
Turn off SH6 onto Northbank Road, 4.9 km north of Renwick just over the Wairau River bridge. After 4.8 km turn into Onamalutu Road, which becomes Kiwi Road.
From Fosters Hut: Follow the short track back down to Fosters Clearing known as the Foster Creek-Bartletts Creek saddle. The wide track descends Bartletts Ridge to the carpark just off Kiwi Road.

Devils Creek Hut: 3 hr (8.5 km)
Tracks to the hut: Wakamarina Track
Before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, yellow for youth) for each night's stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut. Or buy a Backcountry Hut Pass that gives unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for a 6 or 12-month period.
