Description

This is a 8-bunk hut located on the Heaphy Track located in Kahurangi National Park in the Golden Bay area. Bookings are required and fees apply. Facilities include open fire heating, mattresses, non-flush toilets and water (not treated - boil before use). There are no gas cooking facilities at Gouland Downs Hut. Bring your own cooker and cooking utensils. There is also no lighting at this hut. The hut is nestled against beech forest on a limestone outcrop. Explore the numerous caves, nooks and crannies in the area.
