Description

The nearest camping area with a toilet on the trail linking the Routeburn Track with the Greenstone Caples Track is this site. Howden Hut is closed permanently and removed following a landslide. Camping is also generally permitted on the Greenstone Caples Track 50 metres from the track apart from a few exceptions where it crosses private land (mainly in river valleys). Only accessible by hiking. It is a two hour hike from the Divide and about half an hour from the Routeburn Track.
