Description

This is a basic two-bunk hut located in Greenstone and Caples Conservation Areas in the Queenstown area. There are no fees. Bookings not required - first come, first served. Facilities include open fire heating, mattresses, non-flush toilets and water from a stream. Home Hill Hut sits near the tree line and commands views of the surroundings mountains. There is no marked track to Home Hill Hut. The best route starts on the Caples Track, at Old Birchdale Homestead. Climb the main Home Hill spur and sidle to the east above Reid's Creek.
