Description

Camp in a grassy clearing surrounded by beech forest. Picnic, walk, swim, tramp and fish. 4WD is required for access. Camping is free and bookings are not required - first come, first served. There are 20 non-powered sites with non-flush toilets and water from a stream. Getting there Turn off SH6 west of Blenheim into Northbank Rd. Follow this for 25 km, turn into Pine Valley Rd. Drive to the end of the road, through farmland and pine forest (leave gates as found). The camp can be accessed by 4WD across the ford / river crossing, or take a 20 minute walk and cross the swingbridge. Do not camp at the road end. Dogs with a DOC permit only. Contact the relevant DOC office to obtain a permit.
