Description
Freedom camping at the River Road entrance to Ashley Rakahuri Regional Park. All campers are required to be self-contained. There are no toilets at this location. Camping is prohibited behind locked park gates.
If you're in the Rangiora region or looking for a day out in North Canterbury, the Ashley Rakahuri Regional Park is the place to go for fishing, walking, swimming, cycling and family picnics.
Dogs must be kept under effective control at all times.
Waimakariri is committed to sustainability and asks all visitors to help protect our beautiful natural environment. Freedom campers are asked to assist by:
Removing all rubbish, solid or liquid waste from the camping site when leaving.
Disposing of rubbish, recycling and waste at approved sites
Using appropriate toileting facilities.
Ensuring that all pets are appropriately controlled.
Abiding by all Council bylaws including barbecue use, camp fires, noise and animal control.
Lighting fires is not allowed. Please use a gas barbeque for all cooking unless you are in licensed holiday parks.
