Description

This is a walk-in campsite on the Heaphy Track. Situated on the edge of Gouland Downs, you can listen for great spotted kiwi at night. Bookings are required and fees apply. There are 5 non-powered/tent sites and facilities include non-flush toilets, sinks and water (not treated - boil before use). There are also wooden platforms for tent sites. This campsite is beside Saxon Hut. Campers are not permitted to use hut facilities. The campsite is a 1 hr 30 min walk from Gouland Downs hut and campsite and a 3 hr walk to James MacKay hut and campsite. No dogs.
