Description

Day Use only area, This site is within a DOC administered Scenic Reserve. The Reserves Act prohibits camping unless permitted (which it isn't here: See weblink to Reserves Act). This is the reverse of National Parks Act, which has a general permission, unless prohibited. So there is no camping or overnight parking at this site. The Hawdon Shelter DOC Campsite, Klondike Corner, and Avalanche Creek DOC campsites are in the area. The purpose of reserving the land is for a proposed addition to the National Park (see Walking Access Commission site for details).
