Day use area along the Rakahuri Trail in the The Ashley Rakahuri Regional Park. The Ashley Rakahuri Regional Park offers both mountain bike trails and walks that meander along the side of the braided Ashley Rakahuri River. Jump on your bike, tie up your shoe laces, or grab a picnic and togs, check out the bird life and enjoy the spoils of this park. The Rakahuri Trail is a 13km two way shared trail that runs alongside the Ashley/Rakahuri River. No barbecues are provided but visitors are welcome to bring their own, provided they are gas only and used in areas clear of vegetation. Light no fires. Dogs must be kept under effective control at all times.
